A female bicyclist was struck and killed on Sunday night by a hit-and-run driver in Huntington Beach.
Huntington Beach Police Department identified the deceased cyclist as 34-year-old Genieve Hall, a Huntington Beach resident and mother of a 10-year-old son.
The accident happened about 8:25 p.m. near the intersection of Utica Ave. and Beach Blvd. in Orange County. Hall was riding eastbound on Utica. The motorist was northbound on Beach Blvd. Witnesses told authorities they saw a white sedan strike the bike rider and then drive away, without stopping. Hall's body was found lying on the roadway by Huntington Beach police officers. She was transported to UCI Medical Center, where she died.
Witnesses described the hit-and-run vehicle as a white Chevy Impala. According to the police department, the car likely has front end damage.
According to Hall's brother, Michael Bubba Hall, his sister did not own a car. She rode her bike to get to work and run errands.
