Car Slams into Garden Grove Restaurant; 3 Injured

A car slammed into a Vietnamese restaurant in Garden Grove on Monday, injuring three people.

The accident happened about 3 p.m. at Pho 86, located at 8871 Garden Grove Blvd. An elderly female driver of a silver Mercedes-Benz first hit another car which had two occupants. The Mercedes driver then lost control of her car and slammed through the front glass windows of the restaurant.

Two customers in the restaurant were hit: a 37-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl. Both were transported to UC Irvine Medical Center. The Mercedes driver, a 73-year-old woman, was also hospitalized and released.

The restaurant has been red-tagged.

The cause of the car crash is under investigation by the Garden Grove Police Department.
