Dog Bites to Los Angeles Postal Workers are Highest in the Nation

|

Last year, Los Angeles postal workers suffered more dog attacks than postal workers in any other U.S. city. In 2014, postal workers in LA suffered 74 dog attacks. In 2014, postal workers in the greater Los Angeles area suffered 416 dog attacks while working in Los Angeles County and Orange County.

In 2014 in California, Long Beach ranked number 14 with 27 dog attacks, and Pasadena ranked number 24 with 16 dog attacks. Whittier ranked number 30 with 10 dog attacks.

The U.S. Postal Service is planning to have letter carriers undergo professional training on how to respond to an attack by a dog.
