Motorcycle Crash Kills Long Beach Business Owner

Long Beach business owner Carlos Gomez was involved in a fatal motorcycle collision in Whittier on Friday September 25th.

The accident happened at 4:45 p.m. Gomez was riding a Triumph motorcycle westbound on Hadley St., near Court Ave., when he was struck by a vehicle turning in front of his approaching motorcycle. After the initial collision between Gomez’s motorcycle and the turning vehicle, a second vehicle hit Gomez.

Gomez was pronounced dead at a local hospital. According to the Whittier Police Department, both vehicle drivers remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with police. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Victim Carlos Gomez, a 33-year-old Long Beach resident, leaves behind a wife and two children. Gomez owned American Vintage Barbershop and was lead singer of the band Hi-Strung Ramblers.
