Semi Truck Crash on 710 Freeway Injures 5

A multi-vehicle crash on the 710 Freeway today in Paramount left five people injured, including a three-year-old boy.

The accident happened about 2 p.m. on the northbound 710, near Rosecrans Ave. According to the CHP, the 49-year-old driver of a blue semi-truck, attempted a lane change without noticing that there was a white car in next lane. The truck driver struck the car, causing its driver, 25-years-old, to lose control, spin, and hit a Caltrans worker, 30-years-old, who was standing on the side of the freeway picking up trash.

Four occupants of the white car, including a three-year-old, suffered serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The Caltrans worker was also transported to a local hospital with lower extremity injuries.
