|

Two people were killed when a big rig slammed into a disabled vehicle on the southbound 405 Freeway in Hawthorne.

The accident happened at 2:51 a.m. near the Rosecrans exit. The big rig driver, who was exiting the freeway, rear-ended a stalled vehicle which had two occupants. The big rig then overturned.

According to the CHP, two occupants of the stalled vehicle, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and two people were hospitalized. The big rig driver was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.

This accident happened 24 hours before another big rig accident at the same location on the southbound 405 Freeway.

The families of the decedents have a wrongful death claim against the trucking company. Additionally, the big rig driver has a potential claim against the driver of the stalled vehicle.
