Crash involving minivan and motorcycle results in 2 fatalities

A crash involving a minivan and motorcycle in Long Beach on Monday resulted in two fatalities.

The accident happened about 6:10 a.m. at Wardlow Rd. and Norwalk Blvd. CHP were pursuing a motorcyclist who was speeding on the 605 freeway. He was reported to be traveling at 100 mph. The motorcyclist exited the freeway and struck a minivan. The force of the impact caused the minivan to roll several times.

The motorcyclist, 23-year-old Frank Aldana Escalante of Lakewood, and the minivan driver, 65-year-old Marianne Krone of La Palma, both died in the accident.
