Driver Killed in Port of Los Angeles Crash

A driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash in San Pedro at the Port of Los Angeles.

The accident happened on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. Longshoreman Rochelle A. Taylor, a 48-year-old Compton resident, was driving a Ford Ranger truck when he T-boned a utility vehicle inside the American President Lines terminal.

At the Port of Los Angeles terminal, utility tractors are used to move cargo containers around the property.

Taylor died at a Long Beach hospital about 1 a.m. Wednesday. The driver of the utility tractor was also injured in the crash and was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.
