Pedestrian Killed in Long Beach Hit-and-Run Crash

|

A pedestrian was killed on Saturday in Long Beach by a hit-and-run driver.

The accident happened about 1 a.m. in the 1100 block of Stanley Ave. A pedestrian was standing between two parked cars when a pickup truck driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into several parked cars, pinning the pedestrian beneath the vehicles. The pickup truck driver then fled the scene of the accident on foot.

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released by the Long Beach Police Department, was pronounced dead at the scene.

If you have been injured in a pedestrian accident or any type of accident that was someone else's fault, speak with a Long Beach personal injury lawyer about your rights. You are entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, property damage, diminution in the value of your vehicle, loss of use, pain and suffering, and possibly punitive damages. An injury attorney at our law firm is available 24/7 to provide a free consultation.

After an accident, do not delay getting the advice of an attorney. You could jeopardize your personal injury claim. It is important that you get medical treatment right away. If you don't, the negligent party's insurance company will use it against you that you delayed seeking treatment. To the insurance adjuster, delay = not really injured. Even a three day delay makes your injury claim suspect, in the eyes of the insurance company. If you do not know what type of doctor to see after an accident, or cannot afford medical treatment, McGee, Lerer & Associates can refer you to a doctor who will treat you on a "lien" basis – that means that the doctor agrees to wait to be paid until your case settles.
