PCH Crash in Torrance Leaves 2 Dead, 1 Injured

|

Two vehicles crashed on Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance on Tuesday night near the Torrance Municipal Airport, leaving a man and woman dead.

The accident happened about 9 p.m. in the 3400 block of PCH, between Zamperini Way and Madison St. A car headed westbound collided with a car headed eastbound. According to Sergeant Paul Kranke of the Torrance Police Department, one of the vehicles drifted across the center divider into the oncoming lane, causing a head-on collision.

A man and woman in one of the cars died at the scene. The other driver was transported to Harbor General Hospital with serious injuries. All three victims were adults. The two decedants have been identified as 19-year-old Inglewood resident Joseph Labori-Romero and 20-year-old Los Angeles resident Vanessa Carrisoza-Diaz.

If you or a family member has suffered serious injury or death as the result of a car accident, you should speak with a personal injury attorney to learn about your rights. To maximize the value of your claim, you are better off speaking to a lawyer as soon as possible.

The non-negligent parties in this accident are entitled to make a claim against the negligent driver. If the negligent driver's policy limit is not enough, which it probably won't be in this case, the non-negligent victim can make a claim under their own auto insurance policy if they have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. A person's own uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage kicks in if the at-fault driver had no auto insurance, or not enough auto insurance. If the at-fault driver did have auto insurance, but not enough, the victim's underinsured motorist coverage will only apply if the victim's policy limit is greater than the negligent driver's policy limit.
