A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in Long Beach as the result of a crash on the Artesia (91) Freeway.

The accident happened about 10:32 p.m. on the westbound 91 freeway, west of Downey Ave. Two other vehicles had collided. Fontana resident Harry Aguilera, 24-years-old, stopped in the carpool lane because of the collision. Motorcyclist Brandon Bettinger, a Covina resident, then rear-ended Aguilera's stopped vehicle.

Bettinger was thrown from his motorcycle onto the 91's eastbound lanes.
